What’s This about Research Teachers in Latin America
Resumen
En este artículo se reflexiona acerca de qué es el maestro investigador, los imaginarios que lo rodean, los principios en los cuales se inscribe y las experiencias de vida con las que se relaciona. En tal sentido, el escrito trata sobre los siguientes temas generales: 1) el origen del texto, 2) la categoría “maestro investigador, 3) los fundamentos teóricos, 4) las posibilidades y los riesgos del maestro investigador, y 5) las perspectivas futuras del oficio del maestro investigador. El artículo se escribe, principalmente, desde la experiencia y la formación teórica de la autora, quien ha vivido y ha realizado investigaciones en diversas regiones de América Latina.

Abstract
This article talks about what a research teacher is, the imaginaries that surround it, the principles that regulate it and the life experiences related to it. In this sense, the paper deals with the following general subjects: 1) the source of the text, 2) the “research teacher” category, 3) the theoretical background, 4) the research teacher’s possibilities and risks, and 5) the future perspectives of the research teacher’s job. The article is mostly written from the author’s experience and theoretical education, as she has lived in and done research on several regions of Latin America.
