Beaches are one of the most dynamic coastal ecosystems, given that they are exposed to different environmental conditions. An important part of the organisms associated with this ecosystem is the benthic macroinfauna, which is exposed to natural and anthropogenic factors that affect the community structure. The objective of this research was to characterize the benthic macroinfauna associated with beaches (supralittoral and mesolittoral) and its association with natural factors and anthropic stressors in the study area. Sampling was carried out in ten stations between Santa Marta and Ciénaga in the Colombian Caribbean, using a corer to obtain a sample of 0.1 m2 . The samples collected were sieved and fixed in 5% formalin, the organisms collected were identified at the lowest taxonomic level and a univariate and multivariate analysis was carried out to characterize the benthic community. The mesolittoral zone was dominated by organisms belonging to the species Donax denticulatus and Emerita brasiliensis, with densities that varied between (1 - 169 ind. /0.1 m2 ), while in the supralittoral zone the species Excirolana braziliensis was dominant (9 - 164 ind. /0.1 m2 ). Regarding the affectation generated for the anthropic pressure on the part of the tourist industry on the benthic macroinfauna, null values of diversity and abundance were found in the station of Rodadero without the presence of individuals and in Santa Marta with only one individual belonging to the species Scolelepis vossae, with which it can be inferred that this happens due to the trampling action generated by tourists in this area. At the environmental level, patterns are presented regarding the type of sediment associated with the biotic community; given that medium sands have a high presence in the stations of Costa Verde, Puerto Drummond and Puerto nuevo, which present the highest values for diversity, richness and evenness indexes. The benthic communities of this study show a similar pattern of detriment in terms of diversity and richness when compared with other studies carried out on sandy littoral with areas of high influence by the tourism industry
