Resumen

El presente documento comprende el estudio de la posible relación de los principales índices bursátiles entre el IGBC, si esta fue unidireccional o bidireccional y si tuvo efectos de impacto sobre el índice colombiano y su vinculación con los índices de estudio. Los diversos ciclos económicos han generado cambios en las perspectivas de inversión y ahorro, Schumpeter (1971) señaló que el comportamiento de las bolsas de valores puede anticipar la llegada de una crisis; durante los últimos años se han publicado estudios que dentro de su metodología implementan el test de causalidad de Granger y funciones impulso-respuesta como los elaborados por Brugger & Ortiz (2012) y Gurrola, Santillán & Jiménez (2013). Para este estudio se tienen en cuenta los índices bursátiles DAX, IBEX35, NIKKEI, DOW JONES, IPCME, IBOVESPA, MERVAL e IGBC, además de la variable macroeconómica PIB Colombia entre el periodo 2006-2013. Los hallazgos obtenidos fueron: se cumple la causalidad en el sentido bidireccional en el período 2009 a 2013 entre la mayoría de los índices mencionados, por otra parte, la respuesta zigzagueante del índice IGBC respecto a los shocks generados por los demás índices bursátiles en estudio.Palabras claves: Ciclo económico, mercados bursátiles, índices bursátiles, causalidad de Granger, Vector autorregresivo.

This document comprises the study of the relationship of the main indexes between and IGBC, if this was unidirectional or bidirectional, and if it had effects on Colombian index and its relationship to indexes of study. The different economic cycles have caused changes in the prospects of investment, Schumpeter (1971) designated that the behavior of the stock exchanges can anticipate the arrival of a crisis; during the last years have been published studies that implement the Granger causality test and impulse-response functions as those made by Brugger & Ortiz (2012) and Gurrola, Santillan & Jimenez(2013) within its methodology. For this study takes into account the indexes DAX, IBEX35, NIKKEI, DOW JONES, IPCME, IBOVESPA, MERVAL and IGBC, in addition the macroeconomic variable GDP Colombia between 2006-2013 period. The findings obtained were: meets the causality in the bi-directional sense in the period 2009 to 2013 between most of the indexes mentioned, on the other hand, the zigzagging response of the IGBC index regarding the shocks generated by the other stock indexes in study.Keywords: economic cycle, stock markets, stock indexes, Granger causality, Vector Autoregressive.
