The wastewater treatment industry is considered one of the principal focuses of kind works into the environmental Engineering. All the design alternatives on the market provide solutions to all companies. In this research, the objective is sought to improve these technological alternatives studying in fact a new technology in Colombia like the use of hydrodynamic cavitation in the treatment of wastewater, starting all the investigations and locations of this world-class technology, followed by analysis of the design variables and finally seeking a type of industry that require handle greater efficiencies in their treatments. It has been made the suitable search for relevant information and research on this type of technology to perform design parameters and the main pollutants removed, aiming that an objective the search for a food company, where the critical pollutant were fats and oils. After this, the effluent was physicochemical tested and based on this data results the design of the unit was made, suggesting improvements to have a further efficiency of removal into the equipment. After installing the unit they were performed again physicochemical tests and this determined that the equipment gives efficiencies into a 90 to 95%. Because that, the CAF, was a solution in the primary treatments with high dissolved solids, fats and oils.
