In this research project, Color, PH, Alkalinity and turbidity samples were carried out in a purification plant in a municipality in the department of Tolima in the raw waters of the Sumapaz River and at the outlet of the plant, in order to be able to observe the problems that exist in terms of the color parameter and give possible alternatives for the proper functioning of it. In order to demonstrate the existence of the problem at various times of the year, as a result it was announced that the times in which this color problem was reflected were mainly in the months of August and September, which is why said problem it does not affect the PTAP on a constant basis but, on the contrary, it is in a dry period of each year in said municipality. Three different alternatives were proposed, of which the treatment plant could be put to use in these specific periods of the year. The most viable alternative that was considered was number 1 since it refers to the mixture between two bodies of water such as the Sumapaz River and the La palmara creek. a change within the plant with respect to the color facing, since the values measured during 15 days of sampling were not greater than 15 UPC at the exit of the PTAP.
