Resumen
This study examines and defines characteristics to develop an industrial (synthetic) wastewater treatment system, prepared according to the wastewater characteristics of practices of microbiology laboratories of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana of Bogotá; For the development of the present project, seven monitoring assemblies were carried out, which allowed to identify and define the characteristics of the synthetic waste water to be treated, to later be able to define the dimensions and structure of the system to be implemented and the means with which it will work to achieve comparable treatment results and in compliance with the provisions of Resolution 3957 of 2009. In general, two main lines of research were developed; On the one hand, assemblies were developed to recognize the species, quantities, status (free or immobilized) and proportions of the bacterial fungus biomass to be implemented in the biological reactor of the system; And on the other hand, assemblies were developed to define the amount of TiO2 to be added in the photocatalytic reactor, retention time and treatment conditions. In each assembly, was evaluated the degree of removal of BOD5, COD and color units (UC), mainly; In each assembly, the degree of removal of BOD5, COD and color units (UC) was evaluated, mainly; Thus, it was possible to define that the fungus-bacterial medium, should be added in a free form in a proportion of 90% fungi and 10% bacteria, as this resulted in removal percentages of 96.6% of color units, 94.45% of COD and 97.2% of BOD5. Finally, it was possible to establish and confirm the structure of the treatment system, which consists of an equalization tank, an activated sludge biological reactor with extended aeration, a secondary sedimentation tank, a photocatalytic reactor with TiO2 as semiconductor oxide, A tertiary sedimentation tank and two filters of sand and activated charcoal, respectively
