The study was carried out in the locality of Engativá, considered one of the largest in the city of Bogotá; considered the evaluation of the Protocol for the identification of areas affected by atypical elements associated with visual contamination of public space, the methodology was organized in 3 phases: Application, Validation and Correlation. The first consisted of applying the sequence proposed in the Protocol, through interactive geographic portals of the city. The validation phase is supported in the photographic register and in the virtual visual recognition of the main roads, which allowed to identify the atypical elements, later they were entered in the map of the Locality using the Google Earth application. In the final phase, the results of the two previous phases were compared and the existing similarities were analyzed. Finally, it was determined that the UPZ most affected by atypical elements and that has the greatest impact in the urban public space is Boyacá Real. The contribution to the future is the structuring of a practical and viable tool in terms of assessing the impact of public space with respect to atypical elements
