Se realizaron muestreos en los tres caños y canales artificiales para establecer un comparativo entre los mismos. Finalmente se obtuvo una línea base de la Huella Hídrica para las etapas sucesivas en la construcción del proyecto Utopía. Para la estimación de la Huella Hídrica se fundamentó en el Manual de Huella Hídrica de Hoekstra, Chapagain, Alday y Mekonnen, en los modelos de la FAO (Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentación y la Agricultura) 56 Evapotranspiración, en el software Cropwat 8.0, en las ecuaciones de “Penman-Monteith” y en el Método de Zonas Agroecológicas (ZAE)

This work was developed with the purpose to identify the use of water resource in an effort to increase sustainability and quality of life of the resident population in the hacienda Matadepantano (Yopal- Casanare) through field sampling, laboratory analysis and research for a period comprising the years 2011 to 2013. The samplings were conducted in the stream Tiestal, Güio, las Flores, artificial canals, well pumping groundwater, treatment plant of drinking water and Treatment Plant of wastewater, Tests were conducted physicochemical in-situ, in laboratory and bathymetry, to evaluate the amount of water that is supplied hacienda also proceeded to quantify resource consumption and the fate of water after it is harvested. Samples were taken at the three streams and in the artificial channels to establishing a comparison between them. Finally he obtained a line base of the Water Footprint to the successive stages of the construction in the Utopia project. To estimate the water footprint was based on the Manual of Water Footprint Hoekstra, Chapagain, Alday and Mekonnen, in models of FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) model 56 Evapotranspiration, software CROPWAT 8.0, in the equations of "Penman-Monteith" Method and Agro-ecological zones (AEZ).
