The storage of electrical energy in large quantities over time has been a field of interest and research, since this can be used to accumulate the excess electricity generated in the hours of less activity and discharge it in the hours of maximum consumption, allowing to create a more resistant infrastructure and thus to allow an electrical system to be more efficient, which translates into the reduction of costs, reduction of emissions and a more reliable power. Therefore the work presented in this article aims to model and simulate different types of controllers for an energy storage system using flywheels applied to non-conventional generation. The control schemes manage the instantaneous electric currents through the flywheel, so that it can consume or inject the necessary electrical energy, thus functioning as a shock absorber and dynamic energy support that allow to satisfy the requirements of the network. For this storage system a PD-type controller is convenient, as it guarantees the shortest stabilization time and the greatest amount of energy stored
