Resumen
This document shows a study case as an example, to determine the economic and environmental feasibility in the remodeling or installation of a conventional network to an ecological and compact medium voltage network (15 kV and 34,5 kV). The network will carry a semi-insulated conductor with a coating that has to be operated as if it were a naked cable, in a rural area where there are frequent power cuts, based on the environmental and economic impacts it can generate. The viability is determined with an environmental impact matrix, that will establish the impact index that each of these networks could generate. The comparison of prices in the installation of the ecological network and the conventional network are important, the maintenance done and its frequency play an important role to make a right decision. Finally, it shows the ecological and compact medium voltage network as a feasible option in areas similar to this study case
