Implementation of the cultivation of beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) variety Cargamanto Rojo as an economic alternative in Jericó – Antioquia

Resumen

El proyecto productivo en zona de origen (PPZO) se llevó a cabo en el municipio de Jericó-Antioquia, en la vereda Buga, aquí, se desarrollaron los componentes de agronomía, empresarización, investigación y liderazgo social. En un área aproximada de 2.500 m2 se estableció un cultivo de frijol (Phaseolus vulgaris) variedad cargamanto rojo, al cual se le realizó un manejo técnico y agronómico en cuanto a la siembra, fertilización, manejo de plagas, enfermedades, monitoreo y control de arvenses. Se realizaron dos ciclos de cultivo en un total de nueve (9) meses. En el primer ciclo, desde mayo hasta octubre de 2021, se obtuvieron 211 kg de frijol verde en vaina, 227 kg de frijol verde desgranado y 102 kg de frijol seco; en el segundo ciclo, desde noviembre de 2021 hasta marzo de 2022 se obtuvieron 166 kg, 123 kg y 13 kg de fríjol, respectivamente. Después de la cosecha, se tuvo en cuenta la Norma Técnica del producto NTC 871:2005, la demanda y los gustos de los consumidores para establecer los precios de venta forales, que fueron más altos de lo esperado inicialmente. Gracias a esto, se logró obtener una utilidad en el proyecto después de ejecutado de $2,140.000 comparado con lo que se había proyectado inicialmente que eran $303.650 aproximadamente. Los canales de comercialización utilizados fueron: productor-consumidor y productor-intermediario.

The productive project in zone of origin (PPZO) was carried out in the municipality of Jerico-Antioquia, in the Buga village, here the components of agronomy, entrepreneurship, research and social leadership were developed. In an approximate area of 2,500 m2, a bean crop (Phaseolus vulgaris) of the Cargamanto Rojo variety was established, which underwent technical and agronomic management in terms of planting, fertilization, pest management, diseases, monitoring and weed control. Two culture cycles were carried out in a total of 9 months. In the first cycle, from May to October 2021, 211 kg of green beans in pods, 227 kg of shelled green beans and 102 kg of dry beans were obtained; in the second cycle, from November 2021 to March 2022, 166 kg, 123 kg, and 13 kg of beans were obtained, respectively. After the harvest, the Technical Product Standard NTC 871:2005, demand and consumer tastes were considered to establish the final sale prices, which were higher than initially expected. Thanks to this, it was possible to obtain a profit from the project after the execution of $2,140,000 compared to what was initially projected, which was approximately $303,650. The marketing channels used were producer-consumer and producer-intermediary.
