El objetivo principal de esta investigación es caracterizar las estrategias de lectura que utilizan las docentes para la comprensión de los textos en el colegio Francisco de Paula Santander. El enfoque que se utilizó es un estudio de caso. La muestra del estudio es intencional, con niños de segundo grado y las maestras del área de español de la institución. Los instrumentos que se utilizaron fueron observación, entrevista y cuestionario. Como resultado, se identificaron las estrategias de lectura en voz alta, lectura en silencio, lectura guiada y lectura compartida. A partir de la identificación, se hizo una descripción de las estrategias de lectura que pusieron en práctica las educandas en el aula de clase.
The main objective of this research marks the reading strategies that teachers use for reading comprehension at school Francisco de Paula Santander. The approach used was case study. The sample of study is intentional, with kids of 2nd grade and teachers from Spanish subject at the institution. The instruments applied were: observations, interviews and questionnaires. As a result, the reading strategies were identified (reading-aloud, mind-reading, guided-reading, and shared-reading). From the identification, the reading strategies implemented by the teachers in the classroom were described. The research let sum up that the reading strategies used by teachers are tools that improve the reading process of the students and facilitate the comprehension of texts, the creation and development of debates, and the argumentation of their points of view
