El objetivo de este trabajo es exponer los resultados del diagnóstico inicial que se realizó para determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre agroecología que tenían los agricultores de noventa fincas de los municipios Arboledas, Convención, La Playa, La Esperanza, Ocaña y Mutiscua, incorporados a un proyecto agroecológico. Se seleccionaron quince fincas y sus familias por municipio y se realizó una encuesta con veinticuatro preguntas cerradas (sí o no) agrupadas en cinco temas. El nivel del conocimiento sobre agroecología no era alto entre los agricultores del proyecto, ni similar entre los municipios, así como tampoco dentro de estos para los diferentes temas. Los mayores problemas de conocimiento se concentraron en el manejo integrado de plagas y los biofertilizantes, en particular sobre la conservación de semilla en Mutiscua y Arboledas. Algunos municipios se agruparon según las respuestas a algunas preguntas por tener los agricultores un nivel de conocimiento similar sobre determinados temas.
Abstract
The objective of this work is to present the results of the initial diagnosis that was carried out to determine the level of knowledge about agroecology that the farmers of ninety farms in the municipalities Arboledas, Convencion, La Playa, La Esperanza, Ocaña and Mutiscua had incorporated into a project agroecological. Fifteen farms and their families were selected by municipality and a survey was conducted with 24 closed questions (yes or no) grouped into five topics. The level of knowledge about agroecology was not high among the farmers of the project, nor was it similar between the municipalities, nor within them for the different topics. The major knowledge problems were concentrated on integrated pest management and biofertilizers, and in particular on seed conservation in Mutiscua and Arboledas. Some municipalities were grouped according to the answers to some questions because the farmers had a similar level of knowledge on certain topics.
