El pez escalar, Pterophyllum scalare constituye un atractivo en el mercado de peces ornamentales, ya que, cuenta con características únicas como una anatomía extravagante, diversidad de colores y patrones; convirtiéndolo en una especie exótica alrededor del mundo. Sin embargo, esta especie presenta relativamente baja investigación nutricional, por lo que presenta bajos desempeños productivos y altos índices de mortalidad. En este, cobra importancia la nutrición, pues es uno de los factores más destacados en cuanto a aspectos de crecimiento, desarrollo, salud y reproducción de la especie. El objetivo de este proyecto es evaluar la inclusión de harina de grillo como alimento alternativo en el crecimiento y supervivencia de juveniles del pez escalar.
The angel fish, Pterophyllum scalare is an attraction in the ornamental fish market as it has unique characteristics such as an extravagant anatomy, diversity of colors and patterns, making it an exotic species around the world. However, this species has relatively low nutritional research, so it has low productive performances and high mortality rates. In this sense, nutrition is of vital importance since it is one of the most influential factors in terms of aspects of growth, development, health and reproduction of the species. The objective of this project is to evaluate the inclusion of cricket meal as a food alternative in the growth and survival of angel fish juvenile.
