Efecto de la tasa de infusión continua de Dexmedetomidina Precedex® sobre el índice de TEI o de performance en caninos sanos evaluados por ecocardiografía doppler

El objetivo del estudio fue determinar el efecto de la tasa de infusión continua de dexmedetomidina (Precedex®) sobre el índice de TEI o de performance en caninos sanos evaluados por ecocardiografía Doppler. Se utilizaron 6 caninos mestizos entre los 3 y 7 años de edad, de peso entre los 5 a 15 kg., sin distinción de sexo ni raza, fueron utilizados en el estudio. Se registraron valores basales del índice de TEI y del Gasto cardiaco con ecocardiografía Doppler y a este tiempo se le denominó tiempo cero (T0). Se administró vía endovenosa una dosis de carga de dexmedetomidina de 5µg/Kg, 20 minutos después de esta administración se registraron los datos por ecocardiografía Doppler (T1), se continuo con la tasa infusión continua a una dosis de 1 µg/Kg/hora y cada 20 minutos durante una hora se registraron los datos por ecocardiografías Doppler con cada animal (T2, T3 y T4). Se realizaron 3 repeticiones por cada unidad experimental. El índice de TEI aumentó significativamente posterior a la administración de dosis de carga, al igual que en la dosis de infusión continúa durante todos los tiempos. La frecuencia cardiaca después de la aplicación de la dosis de carga y la dosis de infusión continua presento una disminución significativa. El gasto cardiaco evaluado por ecocardiografía Doppler, disminuyo más del 50% posterior a la aplicación de la dosis de infusión continua de dexmedetomidina. El uso de dexmedetomidina a una dosis de carga de 5ug/kg y una dosis de infusión continua de 1ug/kg/hr, aumenta el índice de TEI significativamente y disminuye el gasto cardiaco más del 50% en caninos sanos.
