dc.description.abstractEl presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo principal evaluar el potencial deintroducir el collar como herramienta de mitigación de riesgo en el tipo de interés para laspymes colombianas del sector industrial comparándolo con otro tipo de herramientas demitigación de riesgo como el swap principalmente y el forward como alternativa decomparación.La metodología que se utilizó es de tipo mixto con un enfoque cuantitativo. La muestra delestudio fue la selección de tres pymes colombianas del sector industrial de forma aleatoria.Los datos fueron obtenidos por medio de plataformas electrónicas como Bloomberg y elSistema de Información y Reporte Empresarial (SIREM) de la Superintendencia deSociedades. La primera plataforma fue utilizada para obtener los datos de los contratosforward y swap, la segunda para buscar los estados de resultados de las pymes entre 2013 y2015. Se realizaron dos tipos de análisis: análisis retrospectivo a través de estados deresultados y un análisis prospectivo por el método de simulación de Monte-Carlo por mediodel software risk simulator al primer trimestre de 2016 con el supuesto que no existeinformación en ese año.Como resultado, se observó que el contrato collar tiene un potencial al introducirlo en elmercado colombiano de derivados estandarizados, porque trae beneficios para las tres pymesanalizadas teniendo en cuenta los análisis retrospectivo y prospectivo. La investigación nospermitió concluir que el collar como derivado innovador al mercado tiene viabilidad en sudesarrollo y responde a la pregunta de investigación: ¿Es el collar un instrumento adecuadopara mitigar riesgos de tipo de interés en las pymes colombianas?spa
dc.description.abstractThe following research work aims to evaluate the introduce of collar as a tool of riskmitigation in the interest rate for the SMEs that belongs to the industrial sector and compareit with another type risk mitigation tools such as the swap mainly and the forward as acomparison alternative.The methodology used is mixed type with a quantitative approach. The sample of the studywas selection of three Colombian SMEs of industrial sector of random way. The pieces ofinformation were get by electronic platforms as Bloomberg and Business Information andReporting System (SIREM by its initials in Spanish) of the Superintendencia de Sociedades.The first one was used to obtain the information of the contracts forward and swap, last theSIREM for the Income Statement of SMEs between 2013 and 2015. It had made two typesof analysis: retrospective analysis through the income Statement and a prospective analysisby Montecarlo simulation method using the software risk simulator in the first quarter of2016 with the assumption that there is no information in that year.As a result, it was observed that the collar contract has a potential by introducing it into theColombian standardized derivatives market because it brings benefits for the three SMEsanalyzed in both the retrospective and the prospective analysis. The research allowed us toconclude that the collar as an innovative derivative to the market has feasibility in itsdevelopment and answers the research question: Is the collar an adequate instrument tomitigate interest rate risks in Colombian SMEs?eng
