The project aims to analyze the change in forest cover in the area where the Tinigua Natural National Park is located, using Landsat satellite images, for the years 1988, 2000 and 2015. The dynamics of these zones in the past years, such as farming and illegal logging, among others, are springing up each year loss of large areas of forests. Losses not only include loss of biodiversity, natural habitats and plant biomass in its different forms of life, but also endanger the survival of the human species for the same loss of environmental services that directly and indirectly provides forests. That is why this work, under the use of technological tools such as geographic information systems seeks to determine the deforested area of Natural Tinigua National Park and its area of influence for the years 1988, 2000 and 2015, so that they can relate events , political, economic and social environment documented for the study area, supported by satellite images, for later identification cartographic loss of forest cover in this area can guide new alternatives for sustainable management of the park and its region .
