El crecimiento exponencial del uso de aparatos eléctricos y electrónicos en el mundo, ha permitido que las sociedades y las personas logren desarrollar, de una manera más eficaz y efectiva, diferentes tareas y actividades de su diario vivir, no solo en el escenario laboral o de trabajo sino también en las relaciones sociales, familiares o personales, con todo lo cual, se caracteriza la vida en la actualidad de los individuos. Empero de esta situación, estos aparatos eléctricos y electrónicos, son desechados cada vez más rápido y prácticamente su función y vida útil son realmente cortos; las diferentes innovaciones presentes en el mercado, con relación a estos productos, hacen que las personas quieran actualizar, de manera acelerada, cada uno de estos aparatos, lo que incrementa la contaminación que puedan producir estos residuos en los mares, el aire, los suelos, diferentes fuentes hídricas, entre otras. En este sentido, el presente documento pretende evaluar y comparar la evolución del marco normativo, legal y manejo institucional de la gestión integral de los Residuos de Aparatos Eléctricos y Electrónicos - RAFE en Colombia, con relación a otros países latinoamericanos como Brasil, México, Argentina y Chile.

In this sense, this document aims to evaluate and compare the evolution of the normative, legal and institutional management framework of the integral management of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment - WEEE in Colombia, in relation to other Latin American countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Chile.
