Bogotá, the largest and most important city in the country, evidences daily a mobility problem, which is generating traffic congestion, delays in displacements, environmental effects, as well as social, cultural and economic problems, as a result of this the new alternatives of sustainable transport have begun to gain a space in the city, one of them is the bicycle. The purpose of this monograph is to diagnose how the bicycle as an agent of cultural change is making changes in decision-making when it comes to mobilizing, and how these dissipations improve through the incursion of the bicycle into Bogota society. The heterodox economic theory derived from its institutional and behavioral assumptions, diagnoses as a possible alternative, that the bicycle is a tool of urban competitiveness, which in turn is a challenge of modern cities. For this, the evidence of city problems is a cause of criticism, which not only refers to understanding texts, but looms traditions as a synonym of acquiring perspectives to know truths. This breaks with the traditional paradigms of the economy and responds to the interdisciplinary of the social sciences.
