Determinantes de la calidad del empleo y satisfacción en el trabajo en el sector de mantenimiento y reparación de vehículos automotores

El presente trabajo analiza las diferentes problemáticas que presentan los trabajadores del sector automotriz en Colombia, aquellos vinculados a la rama económica de mantenimiento y reparación de vehículos automotores. Para ello se realiza una estimación de los determinantes de la calidad del empleo (en materia de protección y bienestar social que tienen dispuestas los trabajadores para el desarrollo de su labor) y de su satisfacción laboral, a partir de la construcción de un índice de calidad laboral y de la satisfacción que presentan los trabajadores respecto a los empleos que poseen para el periodo 2009-2014, gracias a resultados de la Gran Encuesta Integrada de Hogares (GEIH) del DANE. De esta forma, el documento muestra cómo influyen diferentes dimensiones en la baja calidad de los empleos de la rama de mantenimiento y reparación de vehículos automotores (Ingresos, seguridad social, contrato y jornada laborales), debido a que los resultados obtenidos muestran grandes falacias en la calidad de empleos que ofrecen los demandantes de mano de obra. Dicho lo anterior, principalmente se buscó hacer un llamado a regular y controlar los mercados laborales toda vez que la satisfacción de la población por empleo demuestra que hay población dispuesta a generar crecimiento y desarrollo en la rama y el sector.
The present work seeks to make an analysis of the different problems presented by workers in the automotive sector, specifically those linked to the economic branch of maintenance and repair of automotive vehicles. To this end, an estimate is made of the determinants of the quality of employment (in terms of protection and social welfare that workers have available for the development of their work) and their job satisfaction. A diagnosis of the labor market will be provided in this economic branch based on the construction of a labor quality index and the satisfaction that workers have with respect to the jobs they have for the 2009-2014 period and then through an econometric model find how different characteristics they condition these two variables in the labor market. The aim is to present the general panorama of the working conditions that the workers have and the characteristics that discriminate them as a sex, with the purpose of influencing an improvement in the conditions regarding the quality of the jobs in the maintenance branch and repair of automotive vehicles. In this way, the document shows how different dimensions influence the low quality of the jobs of the maintenance and repair branch of motor vehicles (Income, social security, labor contract and working hours), because the results obtained show great fallacies in the quality of jobs offered by jobseekers. Having said the above, we mainly sought to make a call to regulate and control the labor markets since the satisfaction of the population by employment demonstrates that there is a population willing to generate growth and development in the branch and the sector.
