Los aportes de la bibliotecología y la archivística en el mundo han sido dados por diferentes pensadores de estas disciplinas los que han dejado un legado de conceptos definiciones y posibles verdades que han sido argumentadas a lo largo del tiempo, los cuales han estado encaminados en la construcción y configuración constante del programa, a través de la construcción de nuevos conocimientos, aplicación de las tecnologías de la información que han beneficiado el crecimiento de la bibliotecología y la archivística en los últimos años. Los aportes de la bibliotecología y la archivística en el mundo han sido dados por diferentes pensadores de estas disciplinas los que han dejado un legado de conceptos definiciones y posibles verdades que han sido argumentadas a lo largo del tiempo, los cuales han estado encaminados en la construcción y configuración constante del programa, a través de la construcción de nuevos conocimientos, aplicación de las tecnologías de la información que han beneficiado el crecimiento de la bibliotecología y la archivística en los últimos años. Como en el caso colombiano, La Universidad de La Salle ubicada en la ciudad de Bogotá tiene un programa que imparte estas disciplinas, desde hace más de 40 años y que sus egresados han sido reconocidos nacional e internacionalmente por sus aportes .
