El presente proyecto de análisis cualitativo, nace de la problemática asociada a la baja gestión equitativa en el Distrito Regional de Manejo Integrado (DRMI) Serranía Peñas Blancas, en el municipio de Palestina Huila, en relación con la distribución de los costos y los beneficios de la conservación, que son asumidos por el municipio y las comunidades locales. El proyecto plantea propuestas para el financiamiento de la gestión equitativa de las áreas protegidas públicas del Sistema Nacional de Áreas Protegidas (SINAP), desde un estudio de caso en el DRMI en mención, en jurisdicción de la CAM, el cual tiene una extensión de 32.793 hectáreas, y se localiza en 5 municipios del departamento del Huila, Acevedo, Pitalito, Timaná, Suaza y Palestina, se prioriza este último municipio dado que de acuerdo con el Esquema de Ordenamiento Territorial tiene el 82% de su territorio en suelos de protección, bajo diferentes figuras de conservación.
The present project related with qualitative analysis, arises from the problematic associated to the low equitative management at the Integrated Regional Management District (DRMI in Colombia) Serrania Pefias Blancas, located in the Palestina municipality (Huila Department, Colombia) and the relation between cost distribution and benefits around conservation, with are assumed by the municipality and local communities. The Project introduces proposals for financing the equitative management for public protected areas from National System of Protected Areas (SINAP in Colombia) based on a case study in the Integrated Regional Management District, mentioned before. Serrania Pefias Blancas is part of the Regional Environmental Authority's jurisdiction named CAM1 with an extention of 32.793 hectares, located in 5 municipalities from Huila department: Acevedo, Pitalito, Timanfi, Suaza and Palestina; the latter prioritized, because 82 percent of its territory concern to land protection under different conservation schemes, according to Territorial Planning Scheme for the municipality (Called as EOT² in Colombia) .
