Resumen
Motivado por la condición actual del corregimiento de San Javier en La Mesa Cundinamarca, el proyecto desarrollado propone la refuncionalización del conjunto arquitectónico de la estación ferroviaria La Mesa para la recuperación de la identidad cultural, reactivación económica y reconocimiento histórico del corregimiento. Para lograr esto se discuten, el obsoletísmo incorporado, el edificio icónico, y la imagen de la ciudad, resaltando la incorporación de actividades que involucran el usuario, la rehabilitación del objeto arquitectónico, y la planeación urbana de su entorno. El proyecto se desarrolla mediante tres etapas, primero, una fundamentación teórica y elaboración de bases proyectuales, posteriormente la exploración volumétrica de diferentes alternativas, y por último, el desarrollo arquitectónico final que se desarrolla en tres intervenciones arquitectónicas estratégicas formando un eje articulador resaltando los valores históricos y culturales del lugar, brindando nuevas opciones de empleo, educación y recreación a la población local, reactivando así el potencial turístico del corregimiento. Estas intervenciones, aunque están conectadas son independientes y suplen cada una a una necesidad diferente logrando así un proyecto integral y planteado desde las áreas del conocimiento abordadas.
Abstract
Motivated by the current condition of the San Javier district in La Mesa Cundinamarca, the project proposes the refunctionalization of the architectural ensemble of the La Mesa railway station to recover the cultural identity, economic revitalization, and historical recognition of the district. To achieve this, it discusses the incorporated obsolescence, the iconic building, and the city's image, highlighting the incorporation of activities involving the user, the rehabilitation of the architectural object, and the urban planning of its surroundings. The project is developed through three stages: first, a theoretical foundation and the development of project bases, then the volumetric exploration of different alternatives, and finally, the final architectural development carried out in three strategic architectural interventions forming an articulating axis highlighting the historical and cultural values of the place, providing new job, education, and recreation options to the local population, thus reactivating the tourist potential of the district. These interventions, although connected, are independent and each one addresses a different need, thus achieving a comprehensive project planned from the areas of knowledge addressed.
