Los perros de búsqueda son considerados una de las herramientas más eficaces en labores de localización de personas atrapadas o perdidas en emergencias de alta complejidad que requieren personal especializado. Una de las ventajas operativas de este tipo de perros es que conllevan a una disminución en el tiempo de búsqueda lo que significa una menor inversión en costos de operación, desgaste de equipos y del personal de socorro. El presente trabajo es un recuento de la implementación de la Escuela de Adiestramiento de Perros de Búsqueda y Rescate de la Cruz Roja Colombiana en la Seccional Departamental Cundinamarca y Bogotá, que realiza trabajos específicos en las áreas de capacitación, administrativa, operacional y difusión del Sub Programa K-SAR (programa de Perros de Búsqueda y Rescate), vinculación de particulares para el financiamiento de las labores humanitarias y su fortalecimiento por medio de convenios de cooperación con empresas e instituciones relacionadas con la cinófilia y con la Prevención y Atención de Desastres de Colombia. Se establecieron aspectos administrativos para dar un soporte al desarrollo de la escuela: Misión, Visión, Objetivos, Organigrama, b) se implemento el manual de funciones, c) se creó la figura de Socio Colaborador, d) nombramiento de coordinaciones y e) implementación de convenios de cooperación con la empresa Perros Guardianes, la Policía Nacional y la Asociación Colombiana para Perros Pastor Alemán APPA. En el área de capacitación se establecieron módulos para el taller de proyección, nivel I y nivel II, se actualizaron los voluntarios del Sub Programa K-SAR en curso de Deslizamiento y Protocolos Operativos y en Intervenciones caninas en Manizales (Caldas), se realizaron soportes académicos con profesionales para cada uno de los módulos, se graduaron los primeros equipos cinófilos en la Seccional Cundinamarca, se apoyaron las Seccionales Departamentales de Boyacá y Tolima para el fortalecimiento del Sub Programa K-SAR, se vendieron por primera vez cursos de capacitación a particulares y voluntarios teniendo ingresos mensuales para el sostenimiento y compra de equipos requeridos para intervenciones, teniendo a la fecha más de 300 alumnos inscritos, y por último se asiste al seminario Iberoamericano de Perros y Gatos. En el área operativa se implementaron los controles operacionales municipales y departamentales, aumentando el número de equipos cinófilos (hombre – perro) de 2 a 8, permaneciendo 12 en proceso de formación, constituyéndose en la seccional con más perros operativos en Colombia. Se implementó la ficha de evaluación para controles operacionales, se participó con operaciones reales en el sismo del Eje Cafetero en las ciudades de Armenia, Pereira, Salento y La Tebaida, Cerros Orientales de Monserrate (3 veces), San Martín y Villavicencio Meta y en Cachipay Cundinamarca prestando una ayuda humanitaria inmediata y adecuada, siendo lo más representativo de este trabajo el ubicar las víctimas con vida o lamentablemente sin ella, pero dándoles a sus familiares la posibilidad de tener un proceso de luto; de igual forma se mantiene disponibilidad en la sede, cuando se reportan explosiones y deslizamientos. Se condecoró al autor del presente trabajo como equipo cinófilo (Hombre – perro) por parte de la Cruz Roja Colombiana por la labor realizada en el Eje Cafetero y por el interés incondicional para su fortalecimiento en las áreas administrativa, de capacitación y de difusión para con el Sub Programa K-SAR. Respecto a la difusión del Sub Programa K-SAR y de la Escuela, ésta se incrementó notoriamente por la vinculación de medios masivos de comunicación al cubrir operativos o presentar documentales en diferentes programas de cubrimiento nacional e internacional, la organización de eventos y seminarios han permitido el intercambio con otros países fortaleciendo el programa.

We were participants in real operation in the Eje Cafetero earthquake as occurred in the probations of Armenia, Pereira, Salento and La Tebaida, Cerros Orientales de Monserrate (3 times) and San Martin and Villavicencio (Meta), in Cachipay giving immediately and humanitarian support, being the most representative action of this labor to ubicate the alive or death victims, giving to their realtives the possibility of having process of sorrow, equally it was maintained the disponibility of a branch when explosion and slindings were reported. The author of this project was decorated as by the Cruz Roja Colombiana because of this labor realized in the Eje Cafetero and for the in conditional interest for the strengthening in the administrative, training and diffusion areas in relation with the Sub Program K-SAR. Respect to the diffusion of the sub Program K-SAR it was evidently increased because of the vinculation of massive communication means by covering actions or presenting documental such as: Panorama, Señal Colombia (twice), Extra, Notice TV HOY, CNN Notices in Spanish, notice CMI and the magazine Jueves of el Espectador, news paper, magazine Cambio and the newspaper the Tiempo (Twice). Presentation of the volunteers day; conferences and presentation with a total attending of 7.893 people from schools and from Universidad De La Salle.
