Persuasion, Seduction and Reason: between Sophistic Rhetoric and Platonic Dialectic
Resumen
El propósito de este artículo es hacer un recorrido que permita dibujar un mapa tentativo a propósito del estatus de la retórica en la Grecia antigua, siguiendo una línea que va desde Gorgias hasta Aristóteles. El texto presta particular interés a las relaciones que se establecen entre la retórica, la culinaria y la dialéctica y se detiene en el término “antistrophos” que parece jugar un papel clave dentro de la ubicación de la retórica como arte o como simple práctica aduladora. Para elaborar este recorrido se hace una aproximación a textos fundamentales dentro de la historia de la retórica como Encomio de Helena de Gorgias, Gorgias y Fedro de Platón y Retórica de Aristóteles.

Abstract
The purpose of this article is to have a covering that allows the elaboration of a tentative map because of the status of rhetoric in the ancient Greek following a line that goes from Gorgias to Aristotle. The text is particularly interested in the relations established between rhetoric, culinary and dialectic, and stops in the term ‘antistrophos’ that seems to have a key role inside the location of rhetoric as an art or as a simple adulatory practice. In order to elaborate this travel we have and approximation to fundamental texts between the story of rhetoric, such as Gorgias’ Encomium of Helen, Plato’s Gorgias and Phaedrus, and Aristotle’s Rhetoric.
