Given the implementation of neoliberal policies in the early 1990s in Chile (after the end of its dictatorship) and in Colombia (through a new Political Constitution), some of the Student Movements in these countries, namely: the Penguin Revolution and the 2001 Movement in Chile; and the National Student Broadcasting Board (MANE by its Spanish acronym) and the National Union of Students in Higher Education (UNEES by its Spanish acronym) in Colombia, have positioned themselves as strong opponents of the functioning of the Education System, which has received the consequences of the implementation of these policies. In this context, the monograph asks what impact the student movements of Colombia and Chile have had on the neoliberal policies adopted in the education system between 1990 and 2018? This is done through qualitative research, of the descriptive-analytical type and compared with the support of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) as an analysis technique. The working hypothesis maintains that, although the Student Movements examined have generated some outstanding changes, there are factors that have not allowed a systemic and substantive reform of the Education System, among other things, because of the internal dynamics of these movements
