The present investigation is born in the context of the concerns that the Consultative Council of the public policy of women and gender of the Municipality of Chía (Cundinamarca), has about the issue of care in the domestic scope, particularly in the rural area. The concern has to do with the gender inequalities that are woven around it. Therefore, this research - through a case study that will be carried out with six women living in the Bojacá Village in Chia, some of them, belonging to the Advisory Council -, seeks to understand how women mean the work of care in the domestic scope. Since the research aims to serve as a contribution in the discussions that the Advisory Council - as an advisory body of the PPMG - has about care, the research group considers it important to start from the meanings that women themselves have regarding the work of the Care in the domestic environment. With this we do not seek to justify gender inequality, but to broaden the understanding of the problem. Therefore, this research reviews care, from a decolonial perspective, and uses analysis categories such as: New rurality, Women in the New Rurality and Care. This research manages, as a product of the exercise, to make visible dialogues for the redesign of the public policy of women and gender, which are contained within emerging categories such as: City dormitory and New domesticity.
