Evaluated the productive behavior of Gliricidia sepium, established in forage banks in the farm "San Miguel", located in the municipality of Paratebueno Cundinamarca, was evaluated in two plots where four samples were taken at intervals of 45 days, harvesting 20 shrubs for every plot where there decided the production of green forage (45,8 t/has/year) and dry matter (8,7 t/has/year), the relation and production of leaves was also determined (FV: 26,4 t/has/year. MS: 3,6 t/has/year), petioles (FV: 6,6 t/has/year. MS: 1,2 t/has/year) and stems (FV: 12,4 t/has/year. MS: 2,6 t/has/year). A count of the plants was done to find the Mortality (6,7%). To determine the nutritional quality, a sample of 500 grams of the whole plant and of each of its parts was taken and taken to the nutrition laboratory where crude protein was defined (plant 19%, leaves 28%, petioles 12% and stems 17), fiber in neutral detergent (plants 74%, leaves 63%, petioles 75% and stems 72 %), fiber in acid detergent (plants 55%, leaves 28%, petioles 56% and stems 49%), in vitro digestibility of the dry matter (plants 50%, leaves 68%, petioles 49% and stems 54%) and ashes (plants 7%, leaves 7%, petioles 8% and stems 8%). In the majority of the results, a difference was observed in the last cut due to the fact that for this period more precipitation was presented and a better management of the plots was done. In conclusion, it can be said that the Matarratón is a species that has many benefits, because of its great potential in quality and quantity of its plant material, since it has a good nutritional content that can be very useful in feeding livestock that are developed in the region of the plains, adding that its establishment is easy and has a good adaptation to the soils of the Colombian plains.
