At Guachetá municipality, “Ranchería” village (Cundinamarca) “Mutual” farm, it was settled down a porcine farm system, outdoors denominated, “camping” in stages of feetting, with the purpose of comparing it with one in confinement, at Chocontá municipally, “Las cruces” village (Cundinamarca) “Buenos aires” farm. The entire group of study had 25 animals lf those which, 5 were worked as experimental group and 20 as the control group. The studied animals were genetic PIC X DEKALB. An ethologic pursuit was carried out, to each system with that it was concluded, that the daily pigs activities are related, according to the climatic situation and the temperature. At “camping” system in very hot or cold days the pigs passed 50% of their time sleeping and/or lied down; in fresh days the physical activity increased, remaining 42% of the time, sleeping and/or lied down. In the confinement system, the temperature was constant and temperature, being observed 80% of the time sleeping and/or tossed. At productive level, confinement system achieved a bigger nutritious conversion in the stage of getting up 2,04 (p≤ 0,001) of course the weight at the end in the group control was bigger for this stage being of 65,05 for confinement and 60,00 for “camping” although the differences were not very meaningful, statistically there were significant differences. At feeding stage, the nutritious conversion, for the confined group was 2,83 ( p≤ 0,001) versus “camping” 8,67 (p≤0,001), equally the difference when concluding the stage, was broadly bigger for confined group, being of 93,15 Kg versus 78,20 Kg. Being affected the experimental group notably by the state of the time. In the last 20 days of the study, the data were purified in the statistical program SPSS version 10,0. The channel yield was excellent for the two groups being of 67% in both. The thickness of the dorsal fat was smaller in the group of “camping” obtaining a maximum of 18 mm and minimum of 10mm respectively versus 25mm and 15. The costs when implementing an outdoor systems are minimized in relation to confinement, however it is important to keep in mind basic factors as the race, wildness, thermal floors (climate) and to give the basic conditions of an alive being as much as possible, shelter, sun and shade to achieve good results in the “piara”.
