Implementation of a supervision and control system for a manufacturing and assembling parts process in a flexible manufacturing system
Resumen
Este trabajo presenta un método aplicado para la implementación de un sistema de control y monitoreo en un proceso de fabricación, el cual consiste en eldesarrollo de un sistema de manufactura flexible en el laboratorio de CAD/CAM de la Universidad de La Salle en Bogotá, Colombia. En este artículo se muestra cómo se supervisa y controla el proceso realizado por cinco diferentes estaciones que fabrican y ensamblan dos piezas, mediante un computador remoto y un módulo central, los cuales comunican los diferentes PLC pertenecientes a cada estación a través de la red Ethernet, mediante la integración de todas las variables de control en una herramienta como el servidor OPC. Finalmente, se representan en forma gráfica los estados del sistema y de cada estación por medio de una aplicación en software desarrollada en LabVIEW

Abstract
This paper presents a method used to implement a monitoring and control system in a manufacturing process, which consists of the development of a flexible manufacturing system at the CAD / CAM´s laboratory at the La Salle University in Bogotá, Colombia. This article shows how this process is monitored and controlled by five different stations that produce and assemble two parts by a remote computer and a central module, that connect different PLC’s belonging to each station through the Ethernet network, integrating all the control variables in a tool such as the OPC-SERVER and finally it´s use a Lab-VIEW software application to plot the system state and the performance of each station belonging to the manufacturing system
