Resumen

Currently the company Eco Ambiente S.P.S.A.S, administrator of the animal benefit plant in the municipality of Cáqueza Cundinamarca does not treat the wastewater generated in its operation. Nor does it have dumping studies as to characterizations and physicochemical analyzes that allow designing an efficient treatment. In addition, the economic factor has been a limitation to implement a treatment system, which is why it is forced to discharge the wastewater directly into the Angosturas creek without prior treatment by exposing the environment to organic and polluting loads that damage water resources. and ground. Therefore, the project aims to select and size an alternative wastewater treatment that is adjusted to the conditions of the benefit plant through a decision matrix where 3 possible treatment alternatives are contemplated with evaluation criteria such as: removal, construction cost, treatment feasibility and area requirement. For this purpose, a characterization of the effluent of the plant was carried out where it is determined that the company Eco Environment S.P S.A.S does not comply with the maximum permissible limits resulting in: biological oxygen demand (5) 1258 mg / L, chemical demand of oxygen (DQO) 2306 mg / L, pH 8.06, settleable solids 7mL / L, total suspended solids 627 mg / L, at a temperature of 23.6 ° C and a flow rate of 1L / s. After this, we proceeded to perform the analysis of the three treatment alternatives where the No.1 alternative represented the combination of a UASB reactor and a trickling filter; No.2 alternative for a DAF and activated sludge and No.3 anaerobic and facultative lagoon where it is stated that the most viable alternative is No.2: "DAF and activated sludge" obtaining a score of 8.2 higher than the others alternatives with 7.2 lagoons and 7.8 reactor with percolating filter. This alternative implies ease of operation and high removal efficiency. The activated sludge can treat effluents of high pollutant loads with a low cost and the air unit dissolved by flotation is an effective treatment for the removal of fats and oils, being one of the most critical parameters of this type of wastewater. The importance of the management of by-products generated by this type of industry was contemplated, providing alternative solid waste management that can be recoverable and processable
