The water footprint is stablished as an evaluation tool of the sustainability of water resources and is used in order to quantify the total volume of water utilized by the inhabitants of certain region; This is very useful to quantify virtual water flows, imports and exports, which allows us to know exactly the quantity of water and how much out of it would we need in order to counteract polluted streams. This research has been developed with the general objective of evaluate the water footprint from the oil palm plantations in order to determine the water volume (green, blue and grey) that Villa Beatriz farm requires in the production stage. Given that from the beginning, a very high percentage of plantations were stablished without any kind of planning regarding the hydric requirements and irrigation and drainage infrastructure, the importance that the adequate use of water represents is not taken into account and therefore, it is necessary to expand the existing studies in order to ensure proper and efficient implementation of the required water. The place in which we will perform the evaluation of the water footprint which belongs to the oil palm plantations indicator, is located geographically in the Villa Beatriz farm, in the Township Tucurinca, the municipality Zona Bananera, Department of Magdalena. It has a cultivated area of 206 hectares its geographical coordinates are 10º 42' 50.9’’ N and 74 ° 13’ 42.3’’ W. Its main productive activity is to produce Fresh Fruit Bunches of palm of oil, the activities carried out on the farm include: growing, harvesting and transportation of Fresh Fruit Bunches to the beneficiation plant EXTRACTORA FRUPALMA S.A. A methodology of quantitative and qualitative information was implemented, which is divided at the same time into three phases, then indicated respectively in each procedure performed in general, in order to determine the pressure on the resource, was used intake and discharge of water from oil palm cultivation. Phase 1 Consists of the diagnosis of the Most Important stages of water consumption in the production process of the cultivation of oil palm, Which Corresponds to the maintenance stage of cultivation, more specifically the activities of irrigation and drainage and pest control with a full water consumption of 8’196,706.175 𝑚3 . Phase 2 is executed by determining the blue, green and grey water footprint in Which It was obtained as a result 90.24 𝑚3 𝑇𝑜𝑛 , 1. 87 𝑚3 𝑇𝑜𝑛 and 5.3 𝑚3 𝑇𝑜𝑛 , in the respective order, the cultivation of CropWat palm oil through 8.0 simulation program, taking into account database Prado weather station Sevilla, the municipality of Zona Bananera, Department of Magdalena. Finally, phase 3 is related to the rate of water use of the components of the total water footprint (blue, green and grey), where is Obtained as a result 3.5 %, 0.07 % and 0.20 % in the respective order, located in the range "low and very low", Which Means That the pressure of demand is very low Compared to the available supply
