Resumen
El propósito de este artículo es ofrecer al lector una reflexión inicial sobre cinco lugares para entender el concepto de identidad, de tal manera que puedan encontrarse potentes elementos articuladores y, a su vez, las limitaciones que la categoría implica. El recorrido del texto aborda cinco autores con distintos horizontes de comprensión: Charles Taylor, Ernest Tugendhat, Kwame Appiah, Amartya Sen y Paul Ricoeur. Desde sus enunciados se hace una mirada a algunos elementos comunes y se trazan algunas conclusiones provisionales que cierran con nuevas preguntas y cuestionamientos el diálogo con estudiantes universitarios a partir de las celebraciones del bicentenario en Colombia.

Abstract
The purpose of this article consists in offering the reader an initial reflection on five spots to understand identity, thus allowing strong articulating elements —and limitations implied in the category— to be found. A walkaround through the text unveils five authors’ stances with different understanding horizons: Charles Taylor, Ernest Tugendhat, Kwame Appiah, Amartya Sen and Paul Ricoeur. From their statements, some common elements are approached and tentative conclusions are traced, providing closure with further inquiry to the dialogue with university students in the context of Colombia’s Bicentennial Independence Commemoration
