Tendencies and Changes in Modernity: Single Person Households

Resumen

Este artículo de reflexión deriva del referente conceptual de la investigación: “La experiencia de vivir solas y solos: hogares unipersonales significados y dinámicas”. Aborda el tema de los hogares unipersonales, teniendo en cuenta los factores estructurales, sociopolíticos y demográficos que han contribuido a la transformación y conformación de este tipo de hogares; ubica dichos cambios en la modernidad, relatando los procesos de individualización, como un componente de este periodo. Por otra parte resalta las características y relaciones afectivas en estos hogares; responde a la necesidad de establecer una aproximación para su compresión.

Abstract

This paper is part of the conceptual reference of the ongoing research: “the experience of live alone: single person households` meanings and dynamics”. Addresses the issue of single person households, taking in account its structural factors, sociopolitical and demographics that has contributed to the transformation and formation of this kind of households. It places these changes in modernity, relating the processes of individualization as part of this epoch. On the other hand highlights features and effective relationships of these households, responding to need to develop an approach for comprehension.
