Economic theory throughout its history has developed a broad debate on the rational distribution of the endowments of goods and resources that an individual possesses and that allow them to maximize their utility. Time, understood as a fundamental and limited element, has not been alien to this discussion from the economic sphere. The objective of this document is to be able to analyze female labor force participation in Colombia, including in the analysis control variables that are related to the allocation of time units in activities that are productive but are not remunerated, and that have been excluded from the measurement of the system of national accounts. This analysis is developed from the calculation of employment indicators and traditional methodologies that allow to measure and observe the incidence in the activity condition and the amount of time available in the labor market. It was found that the time spent in activities such as caring for children under 5 years of age and supporting other members in activities negatively affects the probability of participation in the labor market and shows a higher indicator for women than for men.
