Resumen

Este documento es desarrollado con el fin de analizar la realidad que vive un estudiante de Economía de la universidad de la Salle respecto con expectativas que tenía respecto a la carrera, evidenciando si la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Sociales satisface dichas necesidades y las expectativas de sus estudiantes. Las expectativas de los estudiantes de Economía de la Universidad de la Salle frente al enfoque planteado en la malla curricular parte de la siguiente hipótesis: los estudiantes del programa de Economía de la Universidad de la Salle se encuentran satisfechos con lo propuesto en los contenidos de los distintos cursos y han cumplido sus expectativas. Dado lo anterior, y con el fin de identificar los vacíos que se presenten en la malla curricular y partiendo de allí, se plantea las siguiente pregunta: ¿Lo propuesto en la malla curricular por el programa de Economía de La Universidad de la Salle cumple con las expectativas de los estudiantes? , la cual nos permitirá analizar posibles expectativas de los estudiantes y en qué medida los resultados de este trabajo pueden contribuir a la mejora continua del programa establecido por la facultad. De esta manera, el objetivo de esta investigación es identificar y analizar las expectativas de los estudiantes respecto a su profesión en paralelo a lo planteado en el plan de estudios. En concordancia se emplea la metodología de análisis de datos textual con el fin de caracterizar las expectativas y la realidad del programa. Dicha metodología es una técnica de investigación avalada por las ciencias permitiendo identificar tendencias del conocimiento a través de técnicas cuantitativas, en estos términos se toma como muestra encuestas realizadas en los semestres de objeto de estudio (primero, quinto, noveno y décimo), y desde el análisis de datos textuales se organizan los contenidos para ser evaluados por medio de la teoría del individuo racional y la economía del comportamiento identificando los factores de relación existente entre la malla curricular y las expectativas plasmadas en el proceso de recolección y aplicación estadística. En el resultado de esta exploración se identifican rasgos guía para futuras investigaciones que busquen redireccionar el programa de economía de la Universidad de la Salle, en base a las expectativas de los estudiantes y lo ofertado por el programa.

This document is developed with the purpose of analyzing the reality lived by an Economics student from La Salle University with respect to the expectations that he had regarding the career, evidencing whether the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences satisfies these needs and the expectations of its students. The expectations of the Economics students of La Salle University with respect to the approach proposed in the curriculum are based on the following hypothesis: the students of the Economics program of La Salle University are satisfied with what is proposed in the contents of the different courses and have fulfilled their expectations. Given the foregoing, and in order to identify the gaps in the curriculum and starting from there, the following question is posed: Does what is proposed in the curriculum by the Economics program of La Salle University meet the expectations of students? which will allow us to analyze possible expectations of students and to what extent the results of this work can contribute to the continuous improvement of the program established by the faculty. In this way, the objective of this research is to identify and analyze the expectations of students regarding their profession in parallel to what is stated in the curriculum. Accordingly, the textual data analysis methodology is used in order to characterize the expectations and reality of the program. This methodology is a research technique endorsed by the sciences, allowing the identification of trends in knowledge through quantitative techniques. In these terms, surveys carried out in the semesters of the object of study (first, fifth, ninth and tenth) are taken as a sample, and from the analysis of textual data, the contents are organized to be evaluated by means of the theory of the rational individual and the economy of behavior, identifying the factors of relationship existing between the curricular mesh and the expectations embodied in the process of collection and statistical application. The result of this exploration identifies guiding features for future research that seek to redirect the economics program of La Salle University, based on the expectations of the students and what is offered by the program.
