The Agricultural sector in Colombia during the last 10 years has had an economic risk in terms of investment due to exogenous shocks as the climate behavior and production under uncertainty in a context of high competitiveness that hinders the growth of the sector, net agricultural exports and investment and financing opportunities had a significant impact by monetary and open market variables. Based on the above the following research question is posed: What has been the economic impact of the behavior of FINAGRO active interest rate and the exchange rate on economic growth and financial development of the agricultural sector in Colombia between 2005 and 2015? With the aim of answering this question, literature review of the evaluation of the impact of these variables on the sector have been made, two econometric models of time series by partial adjustment have been proposed in order to evaluate both economic growth and financial development of the sector during the last 10 years. Based on investigation performed, the research concluded that impact of the FINAGRO interest rate and the exchange rate in the agricultural sector has been insignificant in the proposed models based on the analysis of the elasticities of the variables.
