Resumen
The main objective of this research work is to calculate the revealed comparative advantage of the floriculture sector for two countries, Colombia and the Netherlands, in order to determine characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of the sector and why it is for Colombia one of the sectors in those who could specialize with greater focus than in the Netherlands. To evaluate these parameters, the commercial balances of the main tariff sub-items for a period of 12 years (2004-2016) will be addressed by calculating the indices that determine the comparative advantage revealed. Once this is done, they show similarities and differences in the commercial compartments of both countries, giving a brief overview of the possible causes of this difference. The interpretation thrown from the results will allow us to understand why, despite the fact that the Netherlands is the largest producer of flowers worldwide, it is Colombia that is most facilitated by the development in this sector
