The project was developed specifically in five companies in the ornamental plants sector in Bogotá DC, initially the work had been proposed in eleven representative companies in the sector, these being: Cid Ambientes Naturales, Garden Center, David Plantas, El Autumn, Jardines Tropicales, Las Palmas Y Jardines De Manuel, Orquídeas Del Llano, Landscaping And Design SAS, Pérez Plantas, Plantaciones Moreno y Platicelo. Each of these has a current registry in front of the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA), but due to company restrictions or failure to update the database, the participants were limited to five companies. The described phases have the objective of generating sustainable alternatives that allow participants to adopt measures to improve the production processes of ornamental plants in the nursery sector belonging to the Sabana de Bogotá, before these affectations increase and become problematic. of greater environmental and legal severity. This proposal accompanies the research project: Use of waste derived from the production of ornamental flowers in the Bogotá savanna as raw material for a pilot biorefinery, which is funded by the Vice-Rectory for Research and Transfer (VRIT), in which the Students will participate as research assistants. In order to provide an updated baseline for the project and identify possible sources of contamination that can be addressed in parallel with obtaining raw materials for biofuel generation. For this, a three-stage approach was carried out, which includes the identification of potential participants understanding their current production process without any intervention, followed by an individual analysis of the possible environmental impacts generated contained in impact matrices generated with STORM, the tool used by the District Secretary for the Environment to quantify and report them. And ending with different alternatives to implement in the nurseries as a response to reduce the impacts currently generated, improve their practices to avoid sanctions from the respective environmental entities and establish an adequate record of different factors that must be taken into account for a later approach from the main research project mentioned above
