Resumen

El diseño e implementación del sistema de compost se hizo a partir del aprovechamiento de Residuos Sólidos Orgánicos generados en La Huerta La Granja Feliz ubicada en el municipio de Madrid, Cundinamarca; en primera instancia se hace una Revisión Ambiental Inicial con el fin de conocer el funcionamiento, participantes y principios; posteriormente se hace la socialización del proyecto con el encargado en la Alcaldía del municipio para tener su aprobación.

En segundo lugar, se hace una socialización del proyecto con los adultos mayores y encargados del manejo en la zona de muestreo; donde se les informa sobre el paso a paso que se va a seguir y se les capacita en cómo deben hacer la separación de residuos, de igual forma se les entregan folletos con toda la información dada durante la charla.

En tercer lugar, se definió el tipo de mecanismo a implementar según lo hallado durante las visitas, y el diseño apropiado para facilitar su manejo. Este está compuesto de dos (2) secciones de sistemas de almacenamiento en forma de cajón, el primero sirve como almacén y se hace la mezcla de los componentes (Hojas secas, pasto seco, calabazas, frutos en mal estado, hojas verdes, pasto verde, ramas secas, ramas verdes, estiércol de ganado y agua). El cual quedó en funcionamiento, con un volumen total de 0.7m3, el segundo compartimiento tiene como finalidad ir almacenando el compost a medida que se vaya produciendo y tiene un volumen de 0.3m3.

Por último, a los cuatro (4) meses se obtendrá la fase de maduración del compost; este será usado en los cultivos que se tengan en el momento en la huerta.
