The high requirements of water resources in African palm oil plantations make it necessary to search for new alternatives that allow savings and efficient use of this resource. The project was developed at Hacienda La Cabaña, a company located in the Municipality of Cumaral, Metal, which presents problems of efficiencies of the existing treatment system and clogging of sprinklers when attempting to carry out the risk with this effluent; This is why the work of degree aims to propose a treatment system for wastewater from the extraction process, and thus evaluate the viability of this to be reused in sprinkler irrigation in African palm crops, and thus meet Resolution 1207 of 2014, guaranteeing the standards for reuse of wastewater in crops. For this type of economic activity an anaerobic type system was proposed, taking into account the characteristics of the effluent and making this system the most economically viable. The proposed system consists of an equalization tank followed by an anaerobic flow-to-piston reactor, which will have a total of 4 chambers for the degradation and removal of organic excesses in the effluent, followed by a filtration system of Sand and activated carbon, ending with a disinfection system that guarantees the optimal conditions of the effluent for its subsequent irrigation in cultivation. In the same way the calculation of the production of sludge is carried out in the reactor and also the design for the drying beds that allow the proper handling of the same for its later use as compost. It integrates in a synergistic way, to analyze the incidence of irrigation in the soils cultivated with African palm, identifying a high nutritional contribution by the treated effluent, meeting the nutritional requirements for the crop and thus minimizing the implementation of inputs for the fertigation practices. This is how the proposed treatment alternative is evaluated technically and economically. An additional alternative is presented, based on the available information, which consists of a system of carpado that allows to take advantage of the biogas produced by the oxidation lagoons and to optimize this process, being an option that the company can take into account at the time of Technical and economic developments
