Resumen
Actualmente la PTAP de El Espinal (operada por la EAAA E.S.P.) no realiza el tratamiento de los lodos que se generan de su operación. Tampoco realiza disposición adecuada de los mismos y no cuenta con un estudio que le permita determinar el potencial de aprovechamiento de los lodos que genera y las alternativas de tratamiento propias a las condiciones específicas de su operación. Dado que la empresa actualmente se encuentra intervenida por la superintendencia de servicios públicos, el factor económico es determinante y considerado un limitante para adelantar estudios que le permitan profundizar en este tema, por lo que actualmente se ve obligada a evacuar los lodos junto con el afluente que se genera en el lavado de las unidades que componen la PTAP, los cuales son conducidos por medio de una tubería que conecta con el sistema de alcantarillado y posteriormente vierten al cauce de la quebrada “El Espinal”, la cual finalmente desemboca en el rio Magdalena. El proyecto tiene como objetivo seleccionar la alternativa de tratamiento y aprovechamiento de lodos que mejor se ajuste a las condiciones específicas de la PTAP de El Espinal – Tolima, mediante el análisis del potencial de aprovechamiento de los lodos generados, con base en la caracterización fisicoquímica y microbiológica de los mismos y empleando herramientas de análisis combinado (lista de chequeo y matrices DOFA) que permitan analizar las alternativas y formular un plan de implementación donde se identifiquen las actividades necesarias para lograrlo y los responsables asociados a cada actividad. Se espera que el presente trabajo pueda ser aplicado en cualquier PTAP convencional que comparta las características de la PTAP de El Espinal – Tolima donde se requiera identificar la alternativa de tratamiento y aprovechamiento de lodos, que presente las mayores ventajas en términos ambientales, considerando el factor económico de la ejecución y operación de dicho sistema

Currently the PTAP of El Espinal (operated by the EAAA E.S.P.) does not treat the sludge that is generated from its operation. Neither does it make an adequate disposal of the same and does not have a study that allows it to determine the potential of use of the sludge that it generates and alternatives treatment proper to the specific conditions of its operation. Given that the company is currently operated by the superintendence of public services, the economic factor is a determining item and considered a limitation to advance studies that allow it to go deeper into this issue, and is currently forced to evacuate the sludge along with the tributary that is generated in the washing of the units that compose the PTAP, which are led by means of a pipe that connects with the sewage system and later they pour to the channel of the ravine "El Espinal", which finally ends in the river Magdalena. The project aims to select the alternative treatment and use of sludge that best fits the specific conditions of the Espinal - Tolima PTAP, through the analysis of the potential of the use of the sludge generated, based on the physicochemical characterization and microbiological analysis and using combined analysis tools (DOFA checklist and matrices) to analyze the alternatives and formulate an implementation plan that identifies the activities necessary to achieve this and those responsible for each activity. It is expected that the present work can be applied in any conventional PTAP that shares the characteristics of the El Espinal - Tolima PTAP where it is necessary to identify the alternative of treatment and use of sludge, which presents the greatest advantages in environmental terms, considering the factor of the execution and operation of said system
