Resumen

El presente trabajo se basó en el establecimiento de un proyecto productivo de maíz (Zea mays) criollo pejetchii como modelo de producción agrícola en La Alta Guajira, municipio de Uribía. La implementación del cultivo fue de un ciclo, con un área de 300 m², dentro del manejo agronómico del maíz se incluyó un plan de fertilización, monitoreos, control de arvenses, manejo integrado de plagas y enfermedades, cosecha y poscosecha. Se obtuvo como resultado una producción de 172 kg de grano seco para el consumo humano, que se comercializó en la zona, logrando un ingreso por ventas de $602.000, dentro de la empresarización se comercializó el producto en la zona, el 100% de la producción se vendió directamente al consumidor final, logrando un análisis financiero óptimo. Durante el desarrollo del cultivo se presentaron problemas fitosanitarios con plagas como el gusano cogollero (Spodoptera frugiperda). Por otro lado, se desarrolló un componente investigativo que consistió en la caracterización agronómica y fenológicamente del maíz (Zea mays) criollo pejetchii de La Alta Guajira, donde como resultado la recopilación de información básica acerca del maíz criollo mejorando las prácticas empíricas con un manejo técnico del cultivo.

This work was based on the establishment of a corn (Zea mays) criollo pejetchii production project as a model of agricultural production in Alta Guajira, municipality of Uribía. The implementation of the crop was for one cycle, with an area of 300 m². The agronomic management of the corn included a fertilization plan, monitoring, weed control, integrated pest and disease management, harvest and post-harvest. The result was a production of 172 kg of dry grain for human consumption, which was marketed in the area, achieving an income from sales of $602,000. As part of the business plan, the product was marketed in the area; 100% of the production was sold directly to the final consumer, achieving an optimal financial analysis. During the development of the crop, there were phytosanitary problems with pests such as the budworm (Spodoptera frugiperda). On the other hand, a research component was developed that consisted of the agronomic and phenological characterization of criollo pejetchii corn (Zea mays) from the high guajira, which resulted in the compilation of basic information about criollo corn, improving empirical practices with a technical management of the crop.
