The objective of the research work is to analyse the standard of living of Asotrapiche families in the Municipality of Villeta (Cundinamarca); who grow, produce and market sugarcane and its derivatives and if this trade is sufficient to cover their needs, which were identified the categories and subcategories of the analysis from the theoretical framework based on Max Neef and the theory of development on a human scale; Arizaldo and the importance of local and rural development, and Carlos Rodado and Elizabeth Grijalba and their proposal of level and living conditions for a "good living". The work was developed under the action research method and with a mixed approach, contemplating in this way the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the information collected through a survey applied on the 23 families of the association in 2017, as well as focal groups, with the aim of finding relevant and non-existent information in the municipality, which was analysed by means of descriptive statistics and through the results matrix and synthesis of the focus group categories, which allowed to contrast the results of the present investigation with the results of the research carried out in 2016 in the village of Calichana in the municipality of Anapoima, for which it can be concluded, that the level of life of the families of cane growers in Villeta is higher than that of the families in Anapoima given the innovation processes , associativity and other factors that are related in this document and that directly affect the families, allowing them to meet their needs.
