This work of investigation compares two products with analgesic and antiinflammatory action with local effect; one, available on the market good time ago against the new one, both of them with topic therapeutic action, for the managing of inflammatory processes in canines, with goods characteristics of extensibility y adaptability to the dog´s surface of the skin. In this experiment, 60 canines were in used, without race or sex distinction, ages between 1 and 9 years of estimated weight between 5 and 45 kg, they came from different Veterinary Clinics of the city and from the Center of Possession and Canine and Feline Adoption of Bogotá, the animals that entered to the study were presenting traumatic processes that were dealing with inflammation not superior to 30 % of their body without systemic affection. The animals were examined in a detailed way, previous classification, the canines were divided in two groups in random form of 30 each one, of the following way: group 1, they were assigned treatment by Meloxicam (Meloxic Emulgel®): group 2, they were assigned treatment by Ketoprofen (Ankofen Pomada®), both groups were medicated by a small cap of the product every 12 hours for one week in the affected zone. First at all, we proceeded with two technical cytology studies by the fine needle puncture technique in each animal: the first of them the day before the treatment beginning and the second one on the last day of treatment; this was in order to establish evidence of a significant change in the cell line, like if was altered in response to inflammation, as long as the treatment endured, it was assessed the pain degree (in the Melbourne pain scale) and local inflammation levels (through the data table of the cardinal signs of inflammation) in the patient, by the measuring and subsequent register of constants and parameters on this times: first day, the fourth day and the seventh day. The statistical analysis that was realized to each of the variables before mentioned was Statistical linear analysis of variance design factorial for: Pain vs. Analgesia (in the Melbourne pain scale), Cardinal signs of inflammation along with pain and redness. Cellularity obtained through cytology, since these were normally distributed. For the analysis of cardinal signs like increased heat and swelling that were not distributed, the chi-square test was used according to the statistical analysis program Statistix 8.0®. Of equal way the fourth analyzed variable was the measurement of hepatic enzymes (ALT and GGT ) and renal function (uric analysis) in order to determine the possible systemic side effects, for which 40 animals were chosen at random, were divided in two groups of 20 each one, to one of the groups were taken blood samples to realize the hepatic tests before and after the treatment were realized, and the another group were taken urine samples to realize the urine tests in the same way, in order to realize the Statistical checking, there was realized the analysis of variance design factorial. The obtained results demonstrated that the aines topics Meloxicam and Ketoprofen, caused similars anti-inflammatory and analgesics effects, without adverse reactions of systemic origin as the produced for formulaes of oral administration that included hepatotoxicity and renal toxicity, indicating these results to us that the topic treatments obtained with the Ketoprofeno and the Meloxicam present a high margin of safety.
