Resumen

Esta investigación se realizó con el fin de identificar y analizar las tensiones multinivel que se han presentado entre Cataluña, España y la Unión Europea en el marco del proceso independentista catalán, como respuesta al vacío de información encontrado referente a esto. Existe una gran cantidad de literatura que presenta las causas bajo las cuales se ha proliferado el deseo independentista, los puntos a favor y en contra de una declaración de independencia, los efectos constitucionales, entre otros, pero se encontró pertinente un estudio que abarcara varias áreas del proceso independentista centrándose en el impacto que ha tenido en las relaciones entre los tres actores mencionados. Se realizó un estudio de aspectos como son: los principales hechos en el periodo de auge del independentismo catalán, la naturaleza de la Unión Europea y los cambios que ha presentado, y la crisis dentro del estado español. Mediante este estudio pudimos evidenciar que efectivamente existen tensiones debido principalmente a: choques constitucionales en los hechos presentados durante el proceso, que afectan en los tres niveles, la contradicción de un proceso independentista con el sentido de la Unión Europea como una de las integraciones más grandes históricamente, entre otros aspectos que serán presentados en este documento.

This research was carried out in order to identify and analize the multilevel tensions that have arisen between Catalonia, the European Union and Spain in the framework of the Catalan independence process, in response to the information vacuum found related to this. There is a great amount of literature that presents the causes under which the desire for independence has proliferated, the points in favor and against a declaration of independence, the constitutional effects, among others, but we found a study relevant to several areas of the independence process focusing on the impact it has had on the relations between the three actors mentioned. A study was made of aspects such as: the main facts in the boom period of the Catalan independence movement, the nature of the European Union and the changes it has presented, and the crisis within the Spanish state, through this study we could show that there are indeed tensions mainly due to: constitutional shocks in the facts presented during the process that affect the three levels, the contradiction of an independence process with the sense of the European Union as one of the largest integrations historically, among other aspects that will be presented in this document.
