Abstract
Multiple phases are involved in the production process of energy generation. The transmission and distribution are the closest phases to the urban population, specifically with the electrical substations and distribution lines. This type of conventional energy production not only generates a carbon footprint, but also possible health side effects. Therefore, this work sought to identify the risks associated with health and the environment caused by the substations and distribution lines located in UPZ 35 and 36. It was concluded that by improving determinants of health through promotion in health and the implementation of healthy environments, the population will have a more favorable perception of health. Finally, the Ciudad Jardín’s carbon footprint reduction was 66.12%, and 33.11% in San José by installing a photovoltaic system.
