Resumen

El trabajo estuvo dirigido a la caracterización de los pequeños productores de ganado bovino en la zona de La Vega – Cundinamarca. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, por medio de la recolección de información concreta, gracias a una encuesta dirigida a 60 habitantes de la comunidad rural. La selección de la muestra se realizó al azar. Se tomó como fuente escrita principal la información del POT (Plan de ordenamiento territorial) en conjunto con la información de la UMATA del municipio. El trabajo de grado permitió identificar aspectos relevantes como: La mayoría de productores que habitan en las zonas rurales de la Vega (Cundinamarca) poseen territorios que se extienden de 6 a 10 fanegadas. La topografía general de esta zona es ondulada y quebrada. La mayoría de las vías son carreteables, lo que permite la entrada y salida de productos e insumos al casco urbano. La mayoría de la población encuestada (63%), recibe la asistencia técnica que necesita por medio de la UMATA. Sin embargo hay un alto porcentaje de los habitantes (25%) que no tiene ningún tipo de orientación profesional en sus fincas. La tenencia de la tierra en el municipio está representada en un 76% como propia y en un 22% la poseen en arriendo. Se puede afirmar que la generalidad de los encuestados (81%) no realizan análisis de suelos, esto ilustra una clara tendencia a la no planificación de sus cultivos tanto de pastos como de los cultivos propios de la zona. La falta de capital y crédito, tasas de interés altas y costos de producción altos con una actividad porcentual de 24%, 22% y 22%, respectivamente, se convirtieron en los problemas relevantes de los predios o personas encuestadas. Los encuestados no utilizan ningún tipo de registro en su predio, mientras que un 43% si lo usa. La raza bovina predominante en la zona es la Cebú (27%). Otras razas que se encuentran en la zona son Gyr (19%), el gyrolando (15%) y Jersey (15%). El 100 % de la población realiza la vacunación contra la aftosa, el 100 % realiza purgas, aplican vitaminas el 94% y brucella el 97%. El único método utilizado para la conservación de pasturas es el ensilaje con un 19%. El ensilaje que realizan los pequeños productores es en bolsa ya que otro tipo de silos, es propio de grandes productores por la gran mano de obra, maquinaria y dinero que requiere para su realización. Posterior a la caracterización de los productores se realizó un día de campo en la que se explicó y obsequió una cartilla divulgativa en la que se encontraban temas fundamentales como la importancia de llevar registros administrativos y productivos, el plan sanitario para bovinos, prácticas de ordeño, importancia de realizar análisis de suelos y el procedimiento de uno de los métodos para conservar forrajes.

The work was directed the characterization of the small producers of cattle in the zone of La Vega - Cundinamarca. A descriptive study was realized, by means of the compilation of concrete information, thanks to a survey directed 60 inhabitants of the rural community. The selection of the sample was realized at random. There took as a principal written source the information of the POT (Plan of territorial classification) as a whole with the information of the UMATA of the municipality. The work of degree allowed to identify relevant aspects as: The majority of producers who live in the rural zones of La Vega (Cundinamarca) possess territories that spread of 6 10 fanegadas. The general topography of this zone is waved and broken. The mesh vial rural is in good conditions (carreteable), which allows the entry and exit of products and inputs to the urban hull. The majority of the population polled (63 %), it receives the technical assistance that needs by means of the UMATA. Nevertheless there is a high percentage of the inhabitants (25 %) that does not have any type of professional orientation in its estates. The possession of the land in the municipality is represented in 76 % like properand in 22 % they possess it in rental. It is possible to to affirm that the generality of the polled ones (81 %) they do not realize analysis of soils, this illustrates a clear trend to her(it) not planning of its cultures so much of pastures as of the proper cultures of the zone. The capital lack and credit, rates of interest discharge and high costs of production with a percentage activity of 24 %, 22 % and 22 %, respectively, turned into the relevant problems of the lands or polled persons. The polled ones do not use any type of record in its land, whereas 43 % if it uses it. The bovine predominant race in the zone is Cebu (27 %). Other races that they think in the zone are Gyr (19 %), the gyrolando (15 %) and Jersey (15 %). 100 % of the population it realizes the vaccination against the aftosa, 100 % it realizes purges, vitamins apply 94 % and brucella 97 %. The only method used for the conservation of pastures is the ensilaje with 19 %. The ensilaje that the small producers realize is in bag(stock exchange) since another type of siloes, it is proper of big producers for the great manpower, machinery and money that it needs for its accomplishment. Posterior to the characterization of the producers it was realized a field day in which there explained and donated a divulgative primer in which they were finding fundamental topics as the importance of taking administrative and productive records, the sanitary plan for bovine, practices of milking, importance of realizing analysis of soils and the procedure of one of the methods to preserve forages.
