The present study evaluated weight gain, feed intake and cost / benefit ratio of calves, to realize they are early weaning in two ranches in the Casanare by Ruter® power system in two treatments, each consisting of 10 male animals: one of it with Ruter® feed system, and the other one without it, thus being the control group. The Ruter® group animals were weaned at 40 days and were given hay, commercial concentrate and Ruter® concentrate according to the power system implemented, while the control group was taken according to the normal work of the farm and weaned at 7 months. Weight gains were assessed at the first, second, seventh and ninth month. Food consumption was carried out by a gram scale until the animals obtain a consumption of 700 grams of concentrated Ruter® day. For the costbenefit ratio, it was determined the cost of the power system implemented and the difference of income minus the cost of the supplement to estimate the economic gain. There were significant differences in total weight gain between treatments of Mararave, between at 60 days (p <0.02739646), 210 days (p<0.02075516) and at 270 days (p<0.00452657).In the hacienda la Candelaria were differences at 30 days (p<0.04154996) and at 210 days (p<0.01386374). The cost/benefit ratio was positive and although it reported earnings, the control treatment was better; assumes that the most benefit is improving the reproductive performance of cows.
