The objective of this research was to evaluate the production and nutritional quality of Tithonia diversifolia and its fractions (leaves and stems) in a system of fodder bank. This study was conducted in the San Miguel, Paratebueno township of Cundinamarca and 526 m of height and average temperature of 27 °C. Three homogeneous parcels each with shrubs were evaluated, the distance between shrubs was 1m and between rows 0,75m to achieve a density of 12500 plants/ha. Four samples at intervals of 45 days, each were randomly harvested 13 shrubs per parcel was performed. Forage production was calculated and dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), in vitro digestibility of dry matter (IVDMD), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and acid detergent fiber (ADF) were evaluated to estimate the nutritional quality of the whole plant and its fractions. Descriptive statistics were used for variables evaluated, using the Infostat ® software. Biomass production of 107.6 t/ha/year in green fodder and 24.6 t/DM/ha/year was found. The whole plant presented a CP content of 19.5%, 57.6% IVDMD, NDF 58.8% and 42.2% ADF. The leaf- stem ratio was 1.8:1 where leaves were the fraction with the highest proportion. The mortality rate was 1.62% during the four cuts made. According to the results obtained in this investigation T. diversifolia fits conditions piedemonte llanero with acceptable production and forage quality, becoming a nutritional alternative for producers in the region.
